9/17/2023 0 Comments Gimp gradient negative offsetYou can extend this even more by adding multiple grain layers, different blend modes, or adding grain from a texture image. This keeps the grain from being just 1px noise. This option can be accesed on the image menu (right button click on the image), by going to Edit -> Stroke Selection. If you want slightly more realistic grain, use Filters>Blur>Gaussian Blur (1-3px) then Filters>Enhance>Sharpen (set to 50+%). The solution is to use the selection stroking capabilities of GIMP.Set the amount to something large (like 100) for more effect. Run Filters>Noise>Spread to randomly move the pixels of our gradient around. With the new transparent layer selected, draw the gradient you want using the gradient tool (click and drag from the start to the end of where you want your gradient to be). Set the layer Mode from "Normal" to "Soft Light". This is the layer we're going to put the texture on. In the Gimp 2.10 UI, the Blend tool and many others remain active because you can edit your settings while applying the tool (in the Blend tool, you can move the endpoints, and even adjust the gradient).

9/17/2023 0 Comments Valve stem deck(Image credit: Valve) What about the second-hand market? Semiconductor supply is expected to increase in late 2022/2023, after which point there may not be such a delay on Steam Deck orders as there is today. I'd say that may have something to do with the global semiconductor shortage, for one, as late 2022 may see some, perhaps minor, improvement in supply. It could be that the expected availability is so distant that Valve would rather not say when these units may arrive, or that it isn't able to say what availability will look like later in the year. The fact that many of us who pre-ordered on the first day also have the same order availability as what's currently listed on the Steam Deck pre-order page is interesting in itself. After that, there will be a further shipment, likely in the second half of the year, though when exactly is not clear. What that means is that we know there will be at least one wave of Steam Decks on sale in February, Q1 for the people who pre-ordered and another sometime between April–June, Q2. No exact dates are given beyond these rough estimates. Polling the PC Gamer staff that pre-ordered on the same day pre-orders went live: some have expected availability in Q2 2022, while others are after Q2 2022. We also don't know if Valve plans to gradually release Steam Decks during each period, or whether the initial restock will be our lot. At least one in Q2, 2022, and then an unknown quantity thereafter. They will have 72 hours to complete their purchase, otherwise that ticket is sent to the next person in the queue and they lose their chance.Īfter that time, we have very rough estimates as to when the next Steam Deck shipments will be. What that means is that those first in line for a Steam Deck (that signed up last summer) will receive an email allowing them to place an order for the handheld PC on that date. Valve released the Steam Deck's initial wave on February 25, 2022. It should result in a smooth, if a little long-winded, release for the handheld console. Though, Valve is making an attempt at a more orderly ordering system for the Steam Deck than much of the chaos we've seen the past year. As the past few years of PC gaming hardware releases have taught us, nothing is ever that simple. 9/17/2023 0 Comments Online video merger and cutterStill, don’t let that dissuade you: most of the pro features really are destined for professional users, and if you’re an amateur, enthusiast, or just starting out, you’ll have a great time learning the ropes with it.Įverything is pretty intuitive, and the new contextual help windows guide you through your first steps effectively. WunderGraph merges all DataSources into one unified "virtual Graph" which you can then securely expose as a JSON API by writing GraphQL Operations. GraphQL as an ORM to your APIs, an API Orchestration Layer.Ĭurrently, you can use REST, GraphQL, Apollo Federation (with Subscriptions), PostgreSQL and MySQL as a DataSource for your WunderGraph application. The approach described above is the fastest way to implement a Backend For Frontend (BFF) on the fly.Ĭombine it with the capability to add any number of DataSources and upstream protocols, and we're turning GraphQL into way more than just a Query Language. I don't see GraphQL as a simple Query Language where you build a server, add a client and call it a day. That's what we do automatically, so let's have a look at the generated JSON-Schemas!Īs we've discussed, adding a JSON API with JSON-Schema in front of your GraphQL API has a lot of benefits, but there's more to it. We can create a JSON-Schema for the input and the response! If we know the JSON structure, we can even go one step further. The graphql-js implementation has an excellent visitor implementation which makes this quite easy. If we walk through the AST of this GraphQL Operation, we're able to extract the exact JSON structure of both input and response. WunderGraph does this de-inlining by default which brings us to an important conclusion.Ī Persisted GraphQL Operation is a function that takes a JSON Object and returns a JSON Object.Ī function with this specification is actually very useful! If we're de-inlining all GraphQL Variables, they "must" be supplied as a JSON Object. GraphQL Variables can either be supplied "inline", meaning, as part of the GraphQL Operation / Document. Both, input and response can be expressed as a JSON Object.įor the response, it's obvious. It's one of my favorite examples because it contains so many cool features.Īs you can see, it's a function that takes an input and returns a response. Let's have a look at a GraphQL Operation to make things clearer. So, a persisted GraphQL Operation is a function that optionally takes a few arguments and returns a JSON Object. most applications don't change the Operations at runtime.you can still supply variables, just not change the content.they are like stored procedures or prepared statements.Sorry for the backlinking intermission, seo hacks.Īlright, a few facts about persisted GraphQL Operations. So here I am, writing a shorter one with a bit more focus. The problem is, I've realised that this blog post was a bit too long. In this post, I've listed 13 GraphQL security vulnerabilities and how Persisted Operations help solving them.įinally, I've wrote extensively about the Fusion of GraphQL, REST, JSON-Schema and HTTP2. Another time, I was talking about what happens if we treat the GraphQL Operation as the API schema. Additionally, Persisted Operations help a lot with Versioning and keeping APIs backwards compatible. I keep writing about this topic, for example I think that GraphQL is not meant to be exposed over the internet. I don't believe that GraphQL servers should directly expose their API. Let's do it!Īs some might know, I'm the biggest fan of Persisted GraphQL Operations. Implementing GraphQL servers and using GraphQL clients to query them is becoming boring, isn't it? How about trying something new? How about doing a crossover between OpenAPI, JSON-Schema and GraphQL? Today, I'd like to show you an unusual use case for the Query language: Building JSON APIs with JSON-Schema validation. GraphQL is known as a Query Language to Query Graphs. 9/16/2023 0 Comments Good pick up lines for tinder
9/16/2023 0 Comments Pro tools requirementsAnd the renaissance of PC gaming means that you a huge reason to pick Windows over Apple. Dell finding its groove again is giving Lenovo stiff competition. Intel vs AMD is giving us consumers access to top quality processors for cheap. And best of all, there is real competition among hardware manufacturers. The UI is cleaner (though still a mess compared to Apple). The OS is not as stable anymore.Īt the same time, things have changed a lot for Windows under Satya Nadella. Until 2020, the 2016-19 lineup had massive keyboard issues. I always found that to be an exaggerated point – any semi-serious musician is going to use an audio interface anyway.Īpple has slipped of late. Read online and you'll find that people also say that Macbooks have better latency because you can plug directly into the soundboard instead of obfuscating it the way Windows does. People used to buy Macbooks for their ease of use, good build quality, and general stability. So what laptop do you choose to make music? What factors should guide your decision? Let's look for answers in this guide to the best laptop for Pro Tools in 2020. While AMD laptops are still limited, AMD's new processors (at least on desktop) absolutely blow Intel out of the water. You might be able to get the same or even better performance from a Windows laptop.Īnd to make things even more complicated, you now have to choose between Intel and AMD on Windows laptops. You can't just buy the latest Macbook and call it a day. I run Ableton on both systems and performance-wise, I can't find much of a difference anymore.įor you, this makes the laptop buying decision much harder. Mac still does the heavy creative lifting but I use Windows primarily as my work OS. Personally, I use both Mac and Windows (switching between them isn't as hard as you think). And LG Gram is lighter than the thinnest Macbook Airs. And the Dell XPS line has better screens. The X1 Carbon, for instance, is arguably better built than any Macbook. Windows laptop makers, too, are getting up there, or at times, even exceeding, Apple in build quality and design. The crashes are all but absent these days, and the UI is far cleaner than the mess of icons and colors and gradients. The disastrous decision to change the keyboard (the notoriously awful butterfly switches), poor thermals, rising costs and general bugginess of OSX has made a lot of users swear off Apple.Īt the same time, Windows seems to have found new mojo. You can partly blame this on Apple dropping the ball over the last few iterations of the Macbook. While one of the best DAWs around – Logic Pro – remains Mac only, Windows has staked an increasingly larger share of the creative pie. I see more and more Windows laptops in production studios. Until a few years ago, it used to be that if you were a musician (or heck, any “creative”), you would just stick to Apple.īut that's changed in the last few years. 9/16/2023 0 Comments Portland expo center rv showThere's an RV for every passion, and an RV for everyone at the OREGON STATE SALEM SPRING RV SHOW at the Oregon State Fairgrounds. I think the Liquid Air might look a little better on the back and also around the edges of the phone (the case has thinner bezels). Any other suggestion either isn't available to me, or is a clear case (I don't want those), or not a reasonable price-protection-style balance for me. The Rugged Armor has taller, more squares off edges that make it easier and more comfortable to hold. Bought the Spigen Liquid Air Armor for my Watch 5 Pro off Amazon using. Please don't suggest other cases, I've looked at all the other available options in my country and narrowed it down to the Liquid Air and Rugged Armor. The Spigen Rugged Armor Pro includes a strap attached to the case, changing the entire look of your Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. Has anyone directly compared, or knows the finer details in differences between the Spigen Rugged Armor and Liquid Air, especially for the Note9, particularly the main camera lens protection and the main screen protection, in terms of height/prominence of the lips around the screen and cameras? Or general feeling of those two critical areas, along with the corners which is where my phone sees drops most often? I'm looking to get a new case for the phone now, coming from the official clear TPU case, so that the camera lens is better protected from scratches and hard surface contact, as well as the usual screen and corner protection. I found the cost of the official repair unaffordable at this time, so I went the unofficial route, and I can tell the quality of the glass covering the camera lens is not at the same level as what's originally on the phone. It only weighs in at one ounce so it's very light and with that comes a minimal level of drop protection too.I recently had the camera lens cover glass shatter on my Note9, which requires the entire rear panel of the phone be replaced, at least according to the official Samsung service centre and unofficial repair shops in my country. At Spigen, we are built on creating protective phone cases and accessories that push the boundaries of design, technology, and availability. I have a clear favorite out of the six due to a key feature. If you want the lightest Spigen case for the Pixel 6 Pro then you may want to consider the Thin Fit for $24.99. Spigen offers these options ranging from 24.99 to 39.99 with different functions, textures, levels of protection, colors, and weight. The rear camera opening is well designed with a beveled inside edge transitioning down to the camera glass. The raised buttons are just about perfect, wireless charging is supported, and Google Pay works well. The sides also have diagonal lines to provide side grip too so you shouldn't be dropping your phone when it is positioned in this case. With an extensive amount of diamond design texture on the back it is perfect for a phone as slippery as the Pixel 6 Pro. Spigen's Liquid Air case is also $24.99 and is available in black. We will note that the Spigen Rugged Armors TPU has a better texture than the TPU on the matte black Spigen Liquid Air. The raised buttons are easy to find and activate too. Spigen Liquid Air doesnt have any of the great handling of the Spigen Liquid Crystal nor does it have the texture of the Rugged Armor. Personally, the Spigen Liquid Air is one of our least favourite Spigen cases. It is a flexible case that stays securely in place while also offering a good level of grip for your phone. The Spigen Liquid Air is basically a Spigen Liquid Crystal that isnt clear or a Spigen Rugged Armor thats lost a few pounds. Both suck with regards to amount of lip on front face to protect screen from drops. Spigen is a more elegant case ringke looks tacky, but has better corner protection. There are carbon fiber design elements and professional good looks in this case. Ringke did not allow me to use in Brodit car holder. The Spigen Rugged Armor case is $24.99 and is available in black. There are exceptions of course, like the Spigen Rugged Armor or Liquid Air, which are both excellent cases. Also: Google Pixel 6 Pro review: Google's best smartphone yet, but is it enough?
